LG G3 Lollipop Update Android 5.0 US Release Confirmed

Lollipop update details for the LG G3
Just yesterday, LG officially announced that Android 5.0 Lollipop would be landing on LG G3 devices across the United States “soon”. We heard something similar from Motorola this week and they instantly started updating devices. So we’re hoping that LG (and the wireless carriers) are able to get their updates out as quickly as Motorola has. After making the announcement, both AT&T and T-Mobile jumped into the conversation and confirmed that they will be sending out the Lollipop update for LG G3 very soon but again, we have yet to find out an exact date for these releases. Some of LG’s Twitter followers replied and asked exactly how long “soon” would be, and LG responded by saying “we really appreciate your patience! Sit tight, really soon!”. It’s no surprise that LG would dodge the question like that because they have no control on exactly when those updates will go out. It’s safe to assume that LG has just sent the LG G3 Lollipop update code to the US carriers (or will be sending it soon) but then we have to wait on the US wireless carriers to do their thing.
Carriers have to add in their own bloatware, along with various tweaks or enhancements, and then finally put the new code through their QA test labs. If everything goes smoothly then they will immediately push out the update to their customers after the initial tests, but if something goes wrong then they will have to make changes to the code and perform those same tests all over again. So we can see how delays can easily occur.
