Twin turbo V6 could be offered with new saloon

Alfa Romeo is said to be planning a brand new BMW 3 series rival, called the Giulia.
Sporting a range of engines, from a four cylinder diesel to a far more exciting twin turbo V6, the Giulia is an attempt at restoring some of Alfa's performance prestige.
No doubt spearheading this will be the 3.0-litre twin turbo V6 unit that is rumoured to be headed to the Giulia. With a potential 520hp on offer, it also puts the car well above the BMW M3/M4 in the raw horsepower stakes.

The Giulia is pegged as the most important launch back into the US market for Alfa Romeo in recent years. The lightweight 4C only managed 91 units sold in the states over November and December. Alfa is looking at annual sales of 400,000 globally come 2018, so a 3-series rival is going to be crucial.
Fiat Chryler chief Sergio Marchionne has confirmed that Alfa will release a new model every six to nine months. All of the new cars are planned to be rear-wheel drive.
