Premier praises Pakistan ties


The Premier yesterday praised growing friendship and co-operation between Bahrain and Pakistan.
This came as His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa met his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif at his residence in Bahrain.
He lauded positive outcomes of Mr Sharif's visit to Bahrain in promoting bilateral co-operation, expressing keenness on implementing agreements signed by both countries.
During his two-day official visit, Mr Sharif also held talks with His Majesty King Hamad and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier.
Mr Sharif told BNA that his visit aimed to consolidate steadily growing relations between the two nations and bolster co-operation, especially in the energy field.
His meeting with the Premier focused on boosting the volume of trade and economic co-operation by attracting capital in both countries to launch joint ventures.
He added that during his meetings with leaders and senior officials, he reviewed Bahrain's projects and programmes in various fields, noting that Bahrain has achieved rapid growth, thanks to the government's strategy focused on ensuring stability and balance.
Mr Sharif lauded the positive political, economic, trade and urban changes witnessed by the kingdom since the launch of His Majesty's comprehensive reform project, describing Bahrain's experience as one of the most 'important and successful' in the region.
He praised Bahrain's remarkable achievements at local, regional and global forums, and its outstanding international reputation in all vital fields.
He expressed sincere thanks to the Bahraini government and people for their care for the Pakistani expatriates, noting that they enjoy safety due to Bahrain's tolerance and respect for different cultures, and Bahraini laws and regulations that guarantee the rights of all without discrimination.
