SIALKOT – Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda), qualified for the final of National Hockey Championship being played at the Nawaz Sharif Hockey Stadium here Saturday. Federal Minister for Defence Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif would be the chief guest of the final ceremony to be held today (Sunda). In the first semi-final, PIA defeated their strong rivals National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) after a tough competition in the middle and PIA emerged winner eventually after a penalty shootout with 7-5 margin. In second semi-final, Wapda defeated Pakistan Army 3-1. Wapda totally dictated the terms of the proceedings before overpowering the Army men and are strong favourite to win the National Hockey Championship title.
